OT

We knew from the very beginning of Avie's life, she would probably have to have a little occupational therapy. They warned us that the strokes may, at some point, effect her fine motor skills. It was confirmed back in the Fall when Dr. Pena told us she wasn't using her right hand like she should. Well, after TONS of paper work and incompetent family service coordinators (hers got "let go" and she's got a new, precious one), we started therapy back in April. Since she's done so well and uses her right hand perfectedly now, we didn't think OT was necessary. We decided to do it only once a month just to make sure she was meeting her milestones. Well, at our monthly session in April, they were concerned because she wasn't crawling yet. At 9 months, alot of babies aren't crawling. You can see in these pictures that she's in position. She just wasn't ready. These pictures were taken last Monday. By Friday...SHE WAS CRAWLING!!! Miss Debbie is her OT and Avie loves all the fun toys she brings. Of all the toys she has, she always likes what other people have! Miss Debbie is coming for her weekly session this afternoon and she is going to be so surprised when she sees Little A crawling all over the place!

In position...

Any time Avie's feet touch the floor, she starts jumping. Miss Debbie thought that was funny.

Avie's trying to reach for something. This is what she'll be doing before I know it...pulling up on everything. I'll have to get all my "breakables" out of her reach!

The camera is so distracting...

She looks cute on her knees. She is concentrating on these princess keys Miss Debbie brought.

Crawl to the duckie, Avie!

Tummy time! And this is the army crawl...

And at the end...she entertained herself by shredding a kleenex.

Oh! A camera! Hey mama!

She is exhausted after therapy. This is how I found her after she'd gone to bed and I went in to check on her. Funniest sleeping positions, that kid.
